Players are so excited about Valtan’s release in Lost Ark. This Lost Ark Valtan raid guide for gate 2. With that being said though, let's cover the major attacks, mechanics, and patterns that are really deadly throughout Valtan gate 2 fight in Lost Ark. We will not cover every single one, just the ones that are more mechanically challenging or deadly.
Lost Ark Valtan Raid Guide For Gate 2 - Mechanics, Attacks & Patterns Of Valtan Legion Raid Gate 2
In Lost Ark, Valtan gate 2 normal and Hard are about exactly the same. So this Lost Ark Valtan raid gate 2 guide will apply for both difficulties. Normal mode will require you item level 1415, and hard mode will require you item level 1445. Gate 2 Valtan raid’s important hp lines in the regular phase are 128, 110, 88, 65, 30, and 15. Ghost phase Valtan raid’s important hp lines are 35, 25, and 15. Legion raids also have an esther gauge, only the raid leader can use esther skills by pressing control z, x, or c. They are strategically used to go through harsh mechanics, be sure to use them at the right times.
Lost Ark Valtan Gate 2 Battle Items
Battle items are essential on Valtan gate 2 Lost Ark. 7 people require destruction bombs and 1 person requires corrosive bombs. This is to break Valtan's armor. As for grenades, DPS usually takes flame or whirlwind. Supports stay dark or flame grenades. Everyone also takes time stop potions, they're critical to getting you out of unfortunate situations.
Lost Ark Valtan Legion Raid Mechanics For Gate 2
Phase 1
Coming into this fight, you're going to see these towers across the map. There will be a total of 4 of them, each with 2 blue up on top of them. Valtan will start to fight with a quick charge attack and your goal here is to lead them into this tower. At the same time, the party leader should throw the corrosive bomb onto the Valtan in preparation for the upcoming destruction check. After Valtan charge and hit the tower, you'll get knocked down. And at this point, the rest of your party members should follow up with their destruction skills and bomb to knock Valtan armor away. Same time the blue orb will also fall to the ground and each party member is going to have to grab one.
At 130 lines of Valtan hp, your goal here is to knock both Valtan and armor down by 130 lines of hp. But also make sure that each party member has the orb buff on you for the upcoming mechanics. At 130 line when Valtan becomes emailed to damage, you do a giant piece of attack that you need to immediately dodge. If you dodge this successfully and you have the blue or buff on you, then you can survive the upcoming attack. So every single party member needs to do this dodging the attack and having a blue orb buff. If you're not confident that your entire party can do the mechanics though using balthor here is a great choice, especially for puck.
Since this completely skipped the entire mechanics. This also means you don't have to take the orb or worry about the orb because the entire mechanic is skipping it. During Lost Ark phase 1 of Valtan, he'll also do one major attack where he'll jump up and start throwing ax down to the arena. The easiest way to dodge this is just to run in a circle, but the thing to note is that he will also follow with a giant aoe attack that you have to be on the edges of the arena to dodge. But only if that edge is opened up which means he has to previously attack it.
Phase 2
The next major mechanics happen around 110 line hp ish where Valtan will jump to the middle and follow up with a pizza attack once again. These pillars will spawn across the map and each of your party members needs to hide behind the pillar away from the center. But one of your players is going to get targeted by a red cone from Valtan. For him, he'll have to direct the red cone away from its other party member and then dodge out of it last second to behind a pillar. Although you could also just use time stop once you have left the red zones. The same attack will immediately happen again except you don't have to hide behind a pillar this time. Except when the pillar gets hit by a red cone they'll start exploding from the pillar that got hit first, so watch out for that.
Phase 3
Moving on to a 90 hp bar, Valtan will jump up and destroy one side of the map. He'll then follow with a spin attack and then into spawning the pillar once again and it's the exact same thing as before where you have to hide behind a pillar. After the first pillar wave, he will also do the exact same red cone attack targeted at one of the party members, also have to direct it away from other people and then the pillar will start exploding just like what you have seen exactly previously.
Phase 4
The next major mechanics will happen at around 60 bar where he will once again jump towards the middle. He'll then first attack the ground below you, so spread and watch out. A short questline will then play and he'll immediately follow up with a counterable charge after 3 seconds. So here you would count to 3 and then hit him with a counter to complete these mechanics.
Phase 5
Moving on to the 30 hp bar, Valtan will jump up to the sky again and destroy the other side of the arena. You want to run as fast as possible onto the edges. Remember that you cannot actually walk off because you don't want to get hit by the spin attack. The same thing where he would spawn four pillars, so you just want to hide behind a pillar and he will follow it up with a red cone attack. Though because you don't have that much space to dodge, the easiest way to dodge this is to run towards the pillar that first explodes, just be careful of any follow-up attack as the arena is now small. So you have a higher chance of getting knocked off.
Phase 6
Final mechanics happen at 16 hp bar where he will jump up to the sky and then land in the middle. Here he will follow up with 4 cone attacks starting from the front to the back to the left and to the right of him. A lot of aoe will start appearing from the ground and you can walk in clockwise to dodge these together or you can time stop it. You then punch the area in front of him followed by an attack on the remaining area, so you want to dodge out and then in. Then the same pillar will spawn again with the yellow attack, so you want to hide behind the pillar and finally head to the area where there isn't a pillar as the pillar will once again explode. The reason why you hide behind the pillar and didn't get knocked off is that we used balthor here to prevent the knockdown. Balthor is generally preferred as it increased your survivability a lot.
Phase 7
Ghost Valtan will then appear and this is the final showdown against Valtan. You'll notice that Valtan starts with 6 stacks of armor. However, you can remove them by countering those that get sent out. So ghosts that appear from the middle of Valtan body will be counterable immediately after they start attacking. It is essential that you count every single one of these as they will remove the Valtan armor stack, but also increase your sidereal gauges a lot. With the counter mechanics helping you fill up your gauges as well as removing his armor. What you can do here is use firing to help you push damage to finally finish him off for good. And this is the entire fault in a fight.
Lost Ark Valtan Legion Raid Attacks For Gate 2
Counterable Charge
Every time he does this bull rush charging animation, it'll be a counterable charge and so be sure to counter it for free DPS. Valtan will start this attack with silence and then hold his act up. If the axe is glowing then it will attack inside and if the axe is not glowing, then it will attack outside, so dodge accordingly. Make sure to move away immediately after dodging to avoid the aoe on the ground.
Grab Charge
Valtan will go into this charging animation with one hand out. Any player that gets caught in the charge will get grabbed and most likely get phoned on the map. Otherwise, you have to stay next to him to dodge the upcoming yellow attack that will also blow you off.
Valtan Counter
Valtan holding the axe with two hands signaling counterattacks will immediately stop attacking and still swap next to the handle to dodge the upcoming follow-up attack.
Stagger Check
In this one, Valtan holds his hand out and kind of channels like an orb. He grants a high damage shield, so you have to first break the shield by doing a lot of damage and then finally use all your stagger seals to finish the staggered bar off.
Axe Attack
Valtan will jump up to the sky and do this throwing axe attack that you have seen in phase 1 but much shorter. the safe zone will also be on him instead of on the edges of the map this time.
4 Orb
Valtan will spawn full orbs across the map that needs to be collected, otherwise, they will explode. At the same time, he will also do a counterable charge in the middle, so someone has to go up and counter him.
Root
Valtan will lead up with raw followed by free of your party member being rooted. Quickly free them out, otherwise, they will explode and do big aoe damage to everyone. The flame grenade could help a lot here, so be sure to use those.
Memory Pizza
Memory pizza is an attack where the ground starts going red in order of the attack. After the first pizza, dodge toward the first pizza to avoid the fallout pizza attack.
Triple Counter
Valtan does a small raw follow by holding his axe with one hand. This is a triple counter-attack and it's kind of tricky to do. He'll do a counterattack, but the person who counters will get a silence aura around him. So if you're not countering, move away from the party and the next person walks up and attempts the second counter. Then the silence happened again and the person who got counter walked away. Finally, he does it one last time. But this time if you fail, it will wipe. So everyone who has encountered walked up and tried to counter the last one. It's very very important that you hit it. In hard mode, you also see these orbs, make sure or try not to touch these because they'll explode and make countering much harder.
