Best 424 Gameplay Mechanics

- R1 dribbling: Even with van Dijk if he gets a few yards in front of him. Dance around your opponents, be sure to keep a solid distance from the good defenders like Blanc/VVD/etc, and let them make the mistake of pressing tackle. If they miss a tackle and you are dribbling around them at a safe distance, switch to normal sprint (R2) and blast past them.
- R1 + X for passing: Only hard-driven passes if you want to reach a player, or of course through balls if you have the space. Players like van Dijk and King suck at normal passes, but they somehow turn into prime Pirlo when you use R1+X for a driven pass.
- R1 pressing: Select a player who's able to close the gaps, can be a defender or a CM most of the time, and use R1 press to send your CAM/RW/LW to press on your opponent. If you are unable to reach them, switch to your defenders but DON'T press with them, use R1 again to send your CM/LB/RB to do the pressing. If you are close enough and want to go for the interception, switch to your close defender and aggressively try lunge at your opponent. They will in most cases not expect such an aggressive attempt from your defender, resulting in easy possession.
- Corners: Don't change the cursor at all (the thing you move with your right stick), only move your arrow all the way to the backline (with your left stick). Select your best heading player (VVD is insane) and use 2.5-3 bars of power when whipping in the cross. If the opponent moves his keeper, only use 2 bars of power and move your big heading guy to the first post while the ball comes flying in.
