Our Diablo IV barbarian level guide takes you through the initial 50 levels, after which the paragon system kicks in and continues up to the maximum level of 100. The primary emphasis during leveling is on unlocking new talents, which are then further developed as we progress, allowing us to adapt to various situations and grow stronger.

Best Barbarian Leveling Skills

Order of Skills: In D4 we have the possibility to put several points in our talents to strengthen them. We do that too, but at the beginning, it is much more important to unlock new skills before we strengthen the existing ones. So we set up the skills in the following order:

Flay (2 points with Enhanced Flay)
Whirlwind (4 points with Enhanced Whirlwind & Violent Whirlwind)
Ground Stomp (3 points with Enhanced Ground Stomp & Tactical Groud Stomp)
Attention again +2 points in the Whirlwind Skill
Charge (4 points with Enhanced Charge + Power Charge)
Attention again +1 point in the Whirlwind Skill
Death Blow (7 points with Enhanced Deathblow & Warrior's Deathblow)
Call of the Ancients (+3 points, all skills)
Quick Impulses (+3 points)
Aggressive Resistance (+3 points)
Heavy Handed (+1 point)
Unconstrained

Barbarian Level Skill Rotation:

We use shenanigans to build up anger and to get from one enemy group to another, we use our onslaught. Once we're with the enemies, we'll activate Whirlwind, and if they're low on life, we'll kill them afterward with a death blow. For bosses and elite enemies, we'll use our Cooldown: Invocation of the Ancestors. If the damage we get gets too high, we activate stomp and stun the opponents.

Barbarian Class Mechanics:

As soon as possible, we will complete the class quests for the Barbarian and thus unlock the class mechanic - Expertise with weapons. More information is in our Barbarian overview.

Barbarian Level Gear Tips:

Items: The following things need to be considered here:

New weapons that give more damage are always equipped directly.

For new items, we focus on: +% Skill Damage, +% Crit Chance & Damage, Movement Speed

At level 10, craft elixirs from the alchemist and make sure you don't run out of them afterwards. Buffs of elixirs are active for 30 minutes and grant you 5% more experience points, as well as another bonus depending on the elixir.

During the level phase, we can already get important affixes from the Code of Power.

Gems for the Barbarian

Already during the level phase we use the found gems and socket them as follows:

Weapon: For the Barbarian we use: Emerald for our weapons since it increases the critical hit damage.

Armor: Here we use ruby or sapphire, these increase our life and damage reduction.

Jewelry: We use diamonds for more resistance.

Once we reach level 50 with the Barbarian, our experience points (XP) will be converted into Paragon. We get 4 paragon points per level and then we build one of the classic barbarian skills.
