We are getting pretty close to the start of Diablo IV Season 3, is it possible to introduce the rune system and will we get a new class in the season? Now, we are going to talk about some leaks and updates of D4 Season 3, involving the runes, the new character, class changes, leaderboards, buffs, nerfs, and more.

Diablo IV Season 3, which is known as Season of The Construct, is confirmed to arrive on January 23, 2024. The new season will start directly after the last one. In Diablo IV Season 3, players can summon and command a powerful ally known as a Seneschal Companion. This companion functions as a mercenary unit under the command of the player. Unlike regular NPC allies, the Seneschal Companion cannot be killed in combat. Instead, it will become incapacitated and require healing before returning to the fray once more. Using special items called Governing Stones and Tuning Stones, players can customize their companion with different stats, abilities, and appearance.

Will There Be New Runes in Diablo 4 Season 3?

The image shows the name of the upcoming Diablo IV Season 3, part of the name is made up of different rune symbols, in another teaser, runes are pretty heavily featured in S3, we are very likely to get runes or runewords in the next season, and its main mechanic is going to in some way tie into the first iteration of runes or runewords. You can probably combine runewords when stitching the different runes into your gear, and change your gear to add different runes or runewords into them. The developers are initially planning to add some runes and a system involves that, they also want to add some additional crafting elements to allow players to fully customize their D4 items.

However, lots of players think that there is even no corresponding mechanic like itemization and cube in the game now, the rune system and runewords will not come before that. So we are getting runes and runestones in future updates of Diablo IV, but maybe in a new expansion, not seasons.

Diablo 4 Season 3 New Character & Class

According to the datamine, Zoltun Kulleis a character from Diablo games will be back, grants you Diablo 4 Seneschal Protector. A new season activity Vaults of Zoltun Kulle will be introduced in the S3, it is similar to the NM dungeons and features traps. The enemy will made of constructs and there will be tuning stones.

Regarding the new class in D4, a brand new class called Spiritborn is leaked, who can utilize natural elements for combat, combining elements of the Amazon and Druid characters, and is probably introduced in the Vessel of Hatred expansion.

Class Changes Expected in Diablo 4 Season 3

Rogue is always one of the strongest characters in Diablo IV in previous seasons, excellent in both the early and late stages. To balance these classes, Blizzard could make some improvements to other characters. For example, Barbarian and Druid need some buffs for faster leveling in early-game, while Necromancer and Sorcerer could get some more viable and powerful builds in the game.

The team has created a new type of weekly challenge dungeon called The Gauntlet where the heroes of Sanctuary can compete for their class ranking against other people. When season 3 players reach World Tier 4, they're going to be able to compete in The Gauntlet, which is a fixed seed nonlinear dungeon where your Mastery and your skill are going to be needed to achieve the highest scores.
