Lost Ark Abyss Raid Argos Phase 1

Lost Ark Abyss Raid Argos Phase 1 Guide - How to Defeat Argos & Unlock Abyss Raid in Lost Ark

Abyss Raid Argos is actually the tier 3 endgame content in Lost Ark, so you have met the item level requirements and some other conditions. Argos will grow more powerful in three phases, each phase has its own rewards and different requirements, so defeating Argos is a challenging task, but you don’t have to defeat all three phases at once.  Defeating Argos will reward players with some useful items and currencies such as Lost Ark gold. The following tips from ATK can help you pass these mechanics successfully.

Minimum requirements:

1370 Item Level

33 Engravings

Level 3-4 Gems

Level 1-3 Tripods

Lost Ark Abyss Raid Argos Mechanics

- Before you start, you need to understand Argos mechanics first, you need to recognize if you are in the night side or day side when the Raids starts, you can find out by looking under your character. If you have a purple platform under, it’s night side, if you have a yellow platform, it’s day side. The same type of damage will not harm you, so if you are on the night side, the purple-colored attacks from Argos will not harm you, but your color will change as well when Argos finishes wiping.

- Argos has a headbutt attack, a back kick attack, and a charge attack just like any other guardian, it is recommended to stay in his five and seven o'clock direction, because his back kick attack tends to hurt a lot more than you think, so you should watch out for that. If the boss jumps or teleports to the center, a large circular pattern with alternating colors presents the day and night side. You need to stand on the corresponding color to avoid damage. He will do this up to three times, each time he stomps, the pattern will alternate in color, keep in mind that id inside is yellow in the first stomp, then the next stomp will be yellow outside.

- This also resets if Argos is staggered, make sure to see what color he is glowing when he is staggered. Because when Argos staggered, he will release a blast of energy in a ring or circle. If he glows purple, he’ll do a ring blast, so inside is safe, when he glows yellow, he’ll do a circle blast, so outside is safe.

- Argos draws two parallel lines, staying between the lines, you are safe because the explosion will cover the area outside of these lines. The large platform explosion will be either yellow or purple.

- Argos spawns four orbs in total, the member of the corresponding color needs to remove it or it will explode into a large platform, but players in the same color should only get one orb, if you get another one, you’ll be damaged by a lot.

- Argos jumps in place and spins around, make sure to stay close to him after this because there will be a follow-up explosion breathing aura, Argos creates an arrow around them, corresponding colored members can stay inside, but different colored people will see a breathing bar appear, if the bar reaches zero, you'll be severely damaged after some time.

- Argos will jump into the middle and start roaring, this is your first wipe mechanic. You'll see a total of 8 platforms appearing in cross directions, you will need to stand on your corresponding platform, make sure to coordinate beforehand which sector of the area a party member should go to and occupy all 8 platforms. You’ll see this mechanic 2 or 3 times during the whole fight, after you pass the first wipe mechanic, you’ll keep seeing the normal patterns, but two additional mechanics will appear as well.

- With the energy transfer mechanic, you’ll see a time dial appear on Argos, you’ll also see a buff appearing on you at 10 stacks. If you attack Argos with anything at this time including normal attacks, the stacks will decrease, the final goals for dayside and night side to do is to provide the exact same stacks to Argos to keep his color neutral. Because when the time dial ends, his stomp will wipe out the players that have the opposite energy, but when he is neutral, no players will take damage. There are a few tricks to this mechanic, you can either one DPS cut completely until the dial runs out, two keep track of the stacks, and coordinate stacks if Argos glows the side. another good tip is each party's support to keep as much of their stacks as possible because their DPS does not contribute much anyway, so they need to focus on buffing in this phase and contribute their stacks with normal attacks when the side changes at the very end.
