To add power for your Seneschal companion in Diablo IV Season 3, there are a type of new items you can equip and level. This article is going to outline how to get and upgrade Governing and Tuning Stones in Diablo 4.

Governing and Tuning Stones are added to enhance and customize your Seneschal in D4, Governing Stones determine the abilities that the Seneschal can use and Tuning Stones can modify those abilities.

How to Get and Farm Governing Stones in Diablo 4?

If you want to farm a Governing Stone such as the Reconstruct, you have to defeat Heralds in Arcane Tremors, which rewards you with either a Governing or Tuning Stone. What you need to do is gather cores from elemental obelisks and deposit them into braziers to provoke the Heralds of Malphas. Interact with an Elemental Obelisk for a very quick second, without the Obelisk pushing you away and interrupting it, and it will drop an Elemental Core, we are not sure whether or not it drops more Elemental cores at higher difficulties, the Obelisk comes in different flavors from fire to lightning to ice. You're going to want to find an altar to summon a Herald of Malphas, you will need three Elemental Cores and 50 Shattered Stones, which you can find by killing constructs and also from the obelisks. Then you're going to have to kill a wave and then kill the Herald of Malphas for farming Governing Stones, it's also going to drop some other D4 items like Pearls of Warding, which is a rare currency that is important for farming Tuning Stones.

How to Get and Farm Tuning Stones in Diablo 4?

Tuning Stones are found in Vaults which have new dungeons you will encounter in Season 3, they are always near an Arcane Tremor and they are marked with the seasonal leaf image, this is where you're going to use that Pearls of Warding, give it to the Statue of Zoltun Kulle to receive Zoltun’s Warding. Exchange each Pearl of Warding, you will get three charges for Zoltun’s Warding, you can use that to open an extra chest at the end of the dungeon, there is also a basic chest if you want to get to the end of the dungeon and you end up wasting all of your Wardings, having a warding gives you a 5% damage buff. There are a lot of Hazards and traps in these Vaults, in the final room, you will have to survive for like 30 to 40 seconds avoiding numerous traps, most of which you cannot deactivate, and having to kill a final boss, but once you kill that little boss, all of the traps shut off. Once you finish off the room, you get your prize which is two chests, you get to open a second chest that gives you a stone and a bunch of items.

How to Upgrade Governing and Tuning Stones in Diablo 4?

Each of these stones has 10 ranks of levels, you can upgrade them to higher levels, except for two unique stones: Evernight and Genesis. One of the most common methods to upgrade Governing and Tuning Stones is to pick up duplicate Stones that are found scattered on the ground. Each duplicate Stone a player collects will grant 10 experience points towards leveling up the corresponding Stone in their collection, once the XP reaches 30, the stone will rank up to the next level, so you need a total of 300 XP to get to rank 10 of a stone, this means 30 duplicates of a stone are required.
