D4 Sacred Legendary Gear & Unique Items Fast Farm | Dialo 4 Helltide Event Guide
6/6/2023 11:21:34 AM

As you progress along your journey in Diablo 4, you will find a whole new host of mechanics start opening up, new systems that affect your gameplay and more of a larger sense specifically once you reach World Tier 3. The world around you will start to change a little bit, a big part of that change specifically is that you have officially reached the beginning of the end game. One of the major mechanics of the end game is the Helltide. Occasionally a Helltide will start you can see it on your map as a zone that is just absolutely blood red compared to normal and when a Helltide starts it will last for an hour before disappearing. You don't really know ahead of time when what happens, it just sort of does come up but you do get a notification in the game when one is starting if you are playing on world tier 3 or above just in general. Here we dive entirely into what the Helltied is properly and how to make the most use of it, as well as what you stand to gain from it.

Diablo IV Helltide Farming Guide - Sacred Items Farm

What is the Helltide Eevent in Diablo IV?

When the area turns red and the Skies start pelting blood down on you from above, all of the enemies in that area will change, they will turn into Helltide versions of themselves, sometimes being just straight up replaced with demons.

Diablo 4 Helltides Farming Guide - Fast To Farm Full Sacred Legendary Gear, Uniques, Specific Armor, Slots

What To Gain from Helltide? Legendaries, more legendaries,  and also uniques as well as they're in that same pool, but Hellties are also one of the easier ways to target unique specifically. That said let's break down the Helltied in its entirety.  So now we show you how to do efficient and worthwhile farming by listing the Diablo 4 items obtainable in Helltide:

1. Aberrant Cinder (Helltide Specific Currency) & How To Farm

Every enemy in a Helltide will drop a new type of currency called an Aberrant Cinder - these items can only be spent within the Helltide that don't drop anywhere outside of Helltides. Note to mention when the hillside ends, you will lose all of the centers that you have collected and have not spent, it's like a self-contained economy.

How To Farm More Aberrant Cinder?

  • Right at the start of World tier 3, you'll probably feel a little bit weaker than the world around you, a few levels in a few more legendary pieces of gear and you'll start decking enemies even in Helltide. At that point, Helltide becomes worth it as for how to actually make the most out of Helltides.  Then the answer to this is relatively simple, small packs of enemies are not worth it, large packs of enemies absolutely are, especially if you can pull the smaller packs together manually around an elite - as elites also drop 5 cinders each and then you can just sort of murder them all in a group but then you get a bunch of cinders really fast.

  • Events are incredible if you can find them. When walking through Helltides, you'll occasionally see orange circles on your minimap, these are events just like the normal open-world events that you can come across, but these are Helltide-specific. They usually spawn hordes of Helltide enemies meaning that you'll get a ton of cinders just by killing the enemies by completing the event. There will also be a bunch of Elites that spawn for even more Cinders, and then on top of that, there is also a chest at the end that will always have a small pile of cinders as a bonus.

2. Helltide Chests (Unlocked with Aberrant Cinder) & How To Farm

When wandering through a Helltide Zone, you'll come across various chests each of these chests has a cost above it, telling you how many Cinders you'll need to open it. Each of them also has specific rewards, every one of these chests that you come across will have a specific name and it tells you what is inside of it, these all have incredibly High legendary drop rates.

3. Sacred Items (Loot from Helltide Chests) & How To Farm

Every chest in Helltide that we've opened so far has dropped a minimum of one sacred legendary, so they are in incredibly good for that purpose. It's also important to mention that sacred legendaries simply have higher role potential on their effect than non-sacred, so you really want to get sacred legendaries once you can. Sacred legendaries should be a priority so you can get stronger versions of the legendary aspects that already make your build good. If you were to apply a regular legendary aspect to a sacred item, it would tell you that it is a sacred legendary in the description but the effect would not be enhanced so you need the sacred legendary aspects or you need it to drop as a sacred legendary in order to have this stronger effect and Helltide is an absolutely incredible source of these.

3. Specific Chest Armor (Loot from Tortured Gift Chests) & How To Farm

As for the chest what we meant by the name tells you what is inside of them is that every chest is labeled as something like a Tortured Gift of Chest armor, this means that inside of that chest is a chest armor piece, specifically the chest slot. As a result, you can use this as a way of targeting slots that you want upgrades within or slots to contain specific gear that you're after. For example, if you get a helltied helmet, it's pretty much guaranteed to be a legendary - again the sacred legendary, but the effect that is on that is random, so it may not be one that you actually want as a part of your build, you might have to replace it. So the real way to use Tortured Gift chest is to hunt particular legendaries, for example, offensive legendaries can only be on weapons, rings, amulets, or gloves. So if you open a chest for any one of those, you'll more than likely get an offensive sacred legendary effect, they again are always and sacred legendaries are simply stronger even if you just extract the effect and imprint it elsewhere.

4. Unique Items (Drops from World Boss) & How To Farm

Aside from this, there is a big advantage to the way that Helltide works that we haven't really mentioned yet which is unique items. A Unique piece of gear is essentially an Ultra legendary, it cannot be extracted, it cannot be imprinted, it only exists on one specific piece of gear and it cannot be moved, it has a unique name and it will only ever drop on one piece of armor. The Helltide is a perfect location to try and hunt these in particular. You have two options when looking for a unique either just do an activity that gets you lots of legendaries in a small amount of time and hopefully a unique will drop as a result, something like a world boss is excellent for this, but this gives you no control over what actually does drop. Alternatively, Helltides are great for that reason, the amount of time to get each legendary is a bit higher than other activities, with the fact that you can specifically target one slot means you can specifically target one unique, so it's great for that purpose especially if you know what Unique Piece of gear that you want to get.

5. Gear for Specific Slots (Purchase with Murmuring Ovals) & How To Farm

Murmuring ovals will drop every time you do an event in these Helltides because of their events and that's what drops murmuring ovals. These are something that you can bring to the Purveyor of Curiosities vendor in any major town to purchase gear for specific slots. Again this is a great way to actually hunt both legendaries and uniques because you can look for specific slots from this vendor.  In World Tier 3 make a point of buying things from the vendor marked as sacred the ones with the glowing Aura around them. Every time you log out and back in, it will reset which items they're selling that are sacred or not, so just do that until your desired slot is highlighted then this is another good source of legendaries and sacred, which also happens to be fueled by doing the events within the Helltide and that is an incredible source of doubling up, especially for going for the same Concepts.

6. Specific Crafting Materials (Fiend Roses & Forgotten Souls) & How To Farm

There are also two specific crafting materials that you can only get from Helltide that are particularly important as well - Fiend Roses and Forgotten Souls. Fiends Roses are used for enchanting legendary items, which is when you go to the Occultist and ask them to change one of your stats on a piece of equipment to another stat of any kind, you need this material to do that with legendary items simple as that. As for Forgotten Souls, these are actually used for upgrading sacred and ancestral equipment to the highest levels, you probably won't need to do this a lot yet in World Tier 3, upgrading equipment is more of a later-game thing but these materials will be invaluable to you deeper into the end game, so if you happen to start getting a decent collection of them while doing the Helltide to hunt legendaries and uniques. It's actually sort of just a pure bonus.

Helltides are essentially an end-game farmable version of the Purveyor of Curiosities that can also be used to fuel the Purveyor of Curiosities, they last for one hour when they spawn and the spawns are unpredictable, they take over a random area and fill it with new and enhanced enemies, and they drop a unique currency that only applies to the Helltide. If the Helltide ends you lose all of that currency that you have not spent so you should actively be trying to spend it on the Helltide chest, you should be walking around looking for the ones that you want to open and then farming the Helltide currency until you can open it and go back and do that. These chests focus on one specific equipment slot so you can target specific pieces of gear that you want to upgrade or specific uniques that you are hunting, but these just have an insanely High drop rate of sacred legendaries on world tier 3, sometimes they can even drop 2. If you happen to find the Tortured Gift of Mysteries, for a whopping 1 175 costs which is a lot but it actually dropped three different sacred legendaries but not for any specific slot, it is still super worth it honestly. You also get crafting materials from this that can only drop in the Helltide and are important for upgrading and enhancing your strongest gear to make it even better.

So it really is worth doing, but Helltides are harder than general overworld content usually, so we wouldn't regularly recommend doing a Helltide unless you are comfortably settled into World Tier 3, especially as if you die during a Helltide you drop half of your collected senders on the spot so it becomes really inefficient if you're struggling.
