Diablo 4 Class & Build Tier List at Max Level - Ranking Every Class from Worst to Best in D4 Launch
6/2/2023 5:10:30 PM

In Diablo 4, reaching the max level is a milestone achievement, but it's only the beginning of your journey into the endgame content. As players venture into the depths of hell, they will face countless challenges and engage in intense battles against hordes of demons. To help you navigate through the diverse classes and their respective strengths, we present a tier list that ranks the classes at max level in Diablo 4 based on their effectiveness, versatility, and overall power.

Diablo 4 Class & Build Tier List at Max Level - Ranking Every Class from Worst to Best in D4 Launch

Necromancer (S-Tier)

S rank is going to be the Necromancer, we love mini Master builds, it's something that's very unique and it’s so good. This is really the go-to farming class, this is what most players are going to be farming on Sami AFK because the minions are doing everything. The Necromancer harnesses the dark arts of summoning and manipulation of the dead. They command legions of undead minions to overwhelm their foes, making them formidable in both solo play and group content. Their ability to raise and control armies of skeletons, unleash devastating curses, and drain life from enemies solidifies their place among the apex predators. At level 25, they are definitely clearing out events a lot.

Sorcerer (S-Tier)

It is going to be a solid S tier. You can spec into a lot of barriers with defensiveness, your AOE clear speed is just absolutely ridiculous and out of this world, your ability to use things with the attunement system and use abilities that you otherwise wouldn't swap for those passive effects feels absolutely brilliant, it feels so well crafted. The sorcerer does need to kite still, they do definitely need to be more involved. The Necromancer trades off the damage and burst of sorcery which when built right Sorcerer with the right itemization is absolutely mind-blowing crazy in damage. So it trades off a little bit of the survivability of Necromancer for all of this AOE potential. Sorcerer is really strong, you will have no problem cruising through this game with the Sorcerer.

Rogue (B-Tier)

We can put Rogue in B tier, for both the builds. And so the difference for the Rogue is that she trades off so much survivability for a lot of gameplay around evading things in high mobility which again if you're on the Rogue is something that you probably are, like this is the class you want and it does an insane amount of burst damage. So that's why the Rogue isn't super low because we died plenty as the Rogue and oftentimes we'd be like this might be just a skill issue. But compared to the Sorcerer and Necromancer, it's just much harder to pilot, so that's why it's significantly down. We don't think that it's only down to A tier because it's that much of a step down. Now it's doing pretty solid damage, it's really bursty, but the Sorcerer is much more consistent.

Elemental Druid (C-Tier)

Elemental Druid has so much design potential, the Druid looks spectacular from a design perspective, the aesthetics, the shape shifting, the hybridization is so cool. But in practice, we don't think that anyone with a good conscience and good intentions would say that the Elemental Druid is anywhere close to the Necromancer or the Sorcerer because it's just not. We could put Elemental Druid in C tier, it is weaker than Rogue.

Werewolf and Werebear Druid (E-Tier)

Werewolf and Werebear Druid are going to be lumped together because they both suffer the same problems, they're very squishy and they don't deal damage, you don't get the damage of where it Rogue or Sorcerer, not even remotely close, ou're going to be out damaged by Elemental Druid and you’re squishy and you’re melee and so a lot of mechanics are going to be really messing with you, and you're very limited in the options to get glued to targets making melee even harder whereas Rogue has a lot of dashes that could make up for that. Even if you're going for all the passives for Werewolf, it feels absolutely awful.

They are so cool but even the effects that are cool are very lackluster, take Rabies for example which is a Werewolf skill, that is like coming from Warframe like sarin's poison that can spread and anyone that has played sarin in Warframe knows the poison's spreading to everyone and it's a devastatingly good effect. There's no synergy with anything you can't really ramp it up. Rabies is a really strong spread over time effect that is absolutely garbage compared to 99.9 of what Sorcerer can do and it's much weaker than the tornado build from Elemental Druids, so Rabies looks really cool it's like a signature thing of the Werewolf and it absolutely freaking sucks. Werebear Druid just has no damage, and it feels so much more flimsy than the Barbarian, it genuinely just feels bad though. Both the Werewolf and Werebear Druid are the lowest, they are horrible.

Barbarian (C+ Tier)

It is solidly at C+ tier, it's as strong as Rogue, we don't feel that it is as weak as any of the Druid forms, especially when you get even just a teeny bit of gear whereas with the Wearbear Druid we are really piling on the gear and legendary effects in order to make those work. Barbarian with a little bit of gear can be very effective, but Thorns build is very good on it, it is very tanky, it can take blows, it can face tank, it is way tankier than Werebear by a lot. It has a lot of different effects that can work with it in order to make it like supportive to the party, like you can heal the party, you can buff up the party, this class has a lot of potential in it and it is not as bad as the Werewolf or Werebear Druid in any capacity like the damaged portion alone, the damage Barbarian can do is way higher.
