They are going to do a new seasonal piece of content in Diablo IV, each season will last about three months, which means you're gonna have four seasons a year. If you want to take part in the seasonal content, you're gonna need to make a new character for every season, so you're going to be making four characters a year, you could decide to do multiple characters in a season. It's how they've designed the game, the ongoing format of Diablo 4 is going to require you to do this.

There will be a seasonal battle pass for players to participate in, it has one free track for all players and the premium battle pass will cost $10. How many hours are you gonna have to put in the battle pass? When you are figuring in completing the season journey alongside doing other content in the game, you are looking at roughly 80 hours worth of time invested to complete the entirety of the battle pass to level a character to level 100, it could take you a little longer based on how you played. That's about seven hours a week and to some people, that's nothing, but you have to think about the casual player who may just play once or twice a week, if they only play once a week, they better log seven hours or they're gonna quickly fall behind, which sort of nullifies the purchase of the battle pass if you can't even complete it. On the other hand, you are making a new character every season and need to grind that for a minimum of 80 hours if you want to get everything out of the battle pass, and new D4 items, this is a relatively long time.

Diablo 4 Season 1 Start Date

Diablo 4 achievement list includes a six-week pre-season challenge, this means the preseason period will probably be more than six weeks. Diablo 4 is confirmed to launch on June 6, 2023, even though they said that the first season is scheduled to be available soon after launch, and stated that there would be some time between the launch and season 1, considering multiple factors, it is more reasonable the first season come out several months after the game’s initial release, the D4 Season 1 is likely to start in early September 2023.
