There is more than one month since the release of Diablo IV, and more and more news and leaks are coming to the public. The developer showed lots of highly anticipated endgame systems. Here we’ll recap through D4 word tiers, nightmare dungeons, Helltide events, PvP zones, rewards, and more.
Diablo 4 Endgame Systems
The leveling and zone renown systems will gain skill points upwards of 64 in total. And the paragon system can be unlocked at level 50, giving players new ways to explore their character's power progression and added layers to build and experiment with virtually limitless combinations. By completing dungeons, over 120 legendary affixes can be unlocked and added or swapped on rares.
World Tiers - How to Unlock Each World Tier in D4
In Diablo 4, players can select different difficulty levels through the world tier system, starting at level 1, everyone has the access to the first two tiers, Adventurer and Veteran. But you need to get to level 50 first and meet certain requirements to unlock world tiers 3, 4, and probably 5. By far, there are still four world tiers confirmed.
- World Tier 1 (Adventurer): available for level 1-50 players at the beginning.
- Word Tier 2 (Veteran): available for level 1-50 players at the beginning. The difference is that from the Veteran, you gain more Diablo 4 gold and XP from enemies.
- World Tier 3 (Nightmare): you need to get to level 50 and complete the campaign and Cathedral of Light Capstone Dungeon in Kyovashad on Veteran difficulty.
- World Tier 4 (Torment): you need to get to level 70 and complete the Fallen Temple Capstone Dungeon in Dry Steppes on Nightmare difficulty.
- World Tier 5 (Hell): this is to be confirmed.
Nightmare Dungeons
After you complete the initial dungeon you'll have opportunities to randomly obtain nightmare sigils, which is a type of item collected during the Diablo 4 end-game and used to open up Nightmare Dungeons. The difficulty changes are made up of a few things, harder enemies additional objectives, random affixes to the Dungeons and mobs, and finally we'll experience Hellgates, these are random portals that will unleash enemies from all over the world to invade the dungeon.
Helltide Event
Helltide in Diablo IV is a special event that players can experience after reaching World Tier 3 - Nightmare. There are more powerful enemies to slay and more difficult objectives to complete, doing so will reward players with unique shards throughout these areas, and currency can be turned in for powerful rewards, as another option for player choice in the end game, it makes sense, the team didn't expand on any specific triggers, this provides a different end game avenue, and an exploration approach that players can focus on.
PvP Zones & Rewards
We’ll have the Fields of Hatred, which are dedicated PVP areas where Lilith's presence has seeped through and manifested throughout the activities offered, in these areas, players will obtain shards that will need to be purified, as you purify the shards, this is where that really heavy PVP action unfolds, there's high risk versus reward factor, but it isn't clearly defined if you'll be able to loot from the players you eliminate or if they simply lose what they had when they die, it would make sense that you can loot the corpse and steal their shards, but we are not sure once the shard is purified, whether you'll be able to take it back to town and exchange it for cosmetic items and rewards. There are no requirements to get to the PVP zone located in Sanctuary, you can engage in combat to earn rare items.
