What Makes level 85 Areas so Important in Diablo 2 Resurrected?

Level 85 areas are special because any Champion or Boss Pack within one of these locations is capable of dropping every set or unique item in the game. As a general rule of thumb a regular monster in Diablo 2 Resurrected must have the same monster level as the quality level of a particular item in order for it to roll set or unique items, the highest quality level on any TC level 87 item in the game is level 87, so a monster must have the equivalent monster level of 87 in order to drop that particular unique item. Tyrael's Might is a good example this armor base is a Treasure Class level 87 item that has a matching quality level of 87, this is where a level 85 areas come into play,

Regular monsters within these areas have a monster level equal to the area level which is 85
Champion packs have a monster level of 85 plus 2 = 87
Boss packs and minions have a monster level of 85 plus 3 = 88

Since both champions and boss box within level 85 areas have a monster level of 87 or higher, they meet the highest quality level on any set item or unique item in the game ultimately meaning that they have the potential to drop any item, this does not take into consideration super unique bosses or act bosses as they have predetermined monster levels.

85 Level Area Immunities

Now you know that the 85 Level Areas are the main venue for endgame farming. But these high-level areas are not so easy to pass. Some of them not only have a high density of monster groups but also are immune to certain spells. This means that a cold sorc build in a level 85 area with cold immunity might have a hard time clearing monsters. Although in the 2.5 patch, the addition of Sunder Charms greatly increased the possibility of breaking immunities in 85 areas. But knowing which areas have which immunity will always help you choose viable builds to farm those areas efficiently for D2R class specific items.

Obviously, most players want to find very rare items at level 85, and these items will drop from monsters or be looted from chests. Zones with more monsters, especially champion and super unique mobs, and sparkly chests are the best farming spots. So you definitely want to know the monster density and chest location for every 85 areas as well.
