What is Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder? - What is a Ladder Character

Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder is a refresh and a reset system, each people who participate in Ladder Season has to start with a new Ladder character and does not have access to any of the Diablo 2 items that they have on the non-ladder characters. The Ladder system will have a leaderboard that lists out the top characters in different fields or categories. The Ladder character can't interact with non-Ladder characters, also can't access the old D2 items, there are exclusive items in Ladder. In a new Ladder season, everything has to be started again.

So once the D2R Ladder Season 1 start, you'll have a fresh start from level one with no outside equipment that will be given to you. Not only you but also everyone in the game has nothing at the beginning of the Ladder. It creates an entirely new economy based around the Ladder itself, and when Ladder progresses as the weeks and the months go, people will become richer and have more of a stash of items to trade. But in the beginning, every item will be valuable, no matter what it is.

How Does D2R Ladder Works

Everyone who participates in the Ladder system is striving to reach level 99, when you level up your Ladder character to the highest level, you have won the race at that point, if others hit 99 before you, then they are ahead of you. Ladder has two different rankings, one of them is the overall ranking, and a ranking system for each class. Ladder is actually a race to a level 99 character with the ranking board for each class and overall. Everyone is intensely focused on getting their level up as quickly as possible and trying to claim one of these top class slots or top overall slots in Ladder, it is a much more competitive and much more challenging environment.

Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder Exclusive Items & Runewords

A fresh start means a new economic system and it can be very fun to build a brand new character with exclusive D2R Ladder items. All of the previous Ladder exclusive runewords were added into Diablo 2 Resurrected. If you had a ladder exclusive runeword, it could only be created during a ladder, when the Ladder ends, this is the point at which those runewords can make their way into non-ladder, this is how it used to work. They can't be created in non-Ladder but they will exist in non-Ladder. Now there are two new exclusive Diablo 2 Resurrected runewords confirmed to be creatable in Ladder, Pattern and Plague.

What to Do in Diablo 2 Resurrected Ladder - How to Start D2R Ladder

When you are in a group that has eight players, you are going to be able to get more experience points, you're going to be able to kill things faster, you're going to be able to level much quicker in this group than you are by yourself. As your characters become more and more capable on their own, eventually it will get to the point where you can solo. But in the beginning, when nobody has anything, they don't have what they actually need to make their characters work, depending on the goal of each other, you can share equipment or good items with others to achieve your goal and help other people. You can also solo in Ladder, which is a lot more difficult because you have to scrape together everything, and it can be extremely difficult to build a ladder character from scratch by yourself.
