D2R Runeword to Farm

1.   Ancient's Pledge

The first runeword in Diablo 2 that can help you survive in Hell is Ancient’s Pledge, you can actually make this in Normal, but maybe by the time you get to Hell or whatever, you wouldn't have necessarily a better option, so you could go ahead and just stick a Ral, an Ort and a Tal in any type of shield. All resistances on a shield can be amazing to help you out when you get into hell or any time before that.

2.  Rhyme

It only takes two runes: Shael and Eth, they're all pretty low and you can actually get this cannot be frozen on a shield, which is awesome to get, just two sockets, requires level 29, not anything crazy, but increases the block rate, increases the block chance, adds 25 to all resistance. You don’t get any of that from any of the runes that are in the Diablo 2 runewords, and you get that cannot be frozen, which is absolutely crucial to get on a character. On top of that, you even get a 25% better chance of getting D2R magic items

3.  Smoke

If you want an item with a lower budget, we get Smoke runeword for body armor that takes two open sockets. It takes a Nef and a Lum rune, this body armor will give you +20% faster hit recovery, more importantly, +50 to all resistances. Early on resistances are going to be your biggest struggle and what's going to kill you the fastest when you get into hell, so making this Smoke runeword for your body armor can really help you out with that.

4.  Sanctuary

Sanctuary maybe not be a budget option for some people, but you can still consider it. It takes two Ko runes and a Mal rune. In a three open socket shield, you get +20% faster hit recovery, +20% faster block rate, 20% increased block chance, +130 to 160% enhanced defense, +20 dexterity is also helpful and this huge +50 to 70 to all resistances, a lot of people will make this in maybe a Grim shield.

5.  String of Ears

It can help your survivability, magic or physical damage taken reduced by 10 to 15 percent, it exactly says it reduces the amount of physical damage that you take, but on top of that, this is even better if it's on a melee character because it also adds life leech, which will add to survivability for the melee characters, but even if it's on a caster and you haven't found anything better yet, that physical damage reduction can help your survivability out a lot.

This is another belt that can help your survivability, it is a little less common to find, it has a bunch more enhanced defense, 30 to 40 vitality, obviously, more life is going to help out any character's survivability, it also adds 10% faster hit recovery and it has the same 10 to 15% damage reduction on it, you also get replenish life down here. It's based on character level, all that vitality makes it another great option to when going into Hell.

This body armor has 30% physical damage reduction, it's one of the highest damage reductions that you can get in the game on a single item, but on top of that, it also has this 60 to life and a bunch of defense as well, and it's just a mid-level armor, you could actually upgrade this from a mesh armor to whatever.

8.  Skin of the Vipermagi

It's mainly used on casters, but you could use it on melee characters too because it does help out your resistances. It comes up with 20 - 35 to all resistances, in addition, it's got a faster cast rate and +1 to all skills, which could help out any character, but don't sleep on the resistances.

It also provides +20 to vitality and +20 to strength.
