Welcome back New World players! With Season 4 right around the corner, we've put together this tier list to help you determine which armor and weapon artifacts are worth grinding for before the new season drops.

New World Season 4 Best Weapon & Armor Artifacts Tier List

New World Season 4 Artifacts Tier List - Best Weapon & Armor Artifacts for PvE/PvP

With Season 4 of New World coming up, whether you're catching up after a break or eagerly awaiting the increased drop rates, you're in the right place to understand which artifacts are worth your time and effort. While this tier list is primarily focused on World PvP—such as 3v3, Outpost Rush (OPR), and War - it also touches on PvE significance. Let's dive into the rankings and the rationale behind each artifact's placement.

S Tier (Insane on multiple builds)

These artifacts shine across various builds, offering the most value for active players engaged in the game:

  • Ankh (Amulet Jewelry) - Extra gem slot and crowd control immunity make this incredibly versatile.

  • Nimble Coat (Medium Chestwear) - Movment speed and stealth detection are amazing on any build.

  • Tumbler Feetwraps (Light Footwear) - Dodge distance and stamina recovery are just too good to pass up.

  • Featherweight (Light Chestwear) - Reduced armor weight opens up so many build possibilities.

  • Deep Freeze (Ice Gauntlet) - Extra slow and freezing effect work well in any group PvP scenario.

  • Finisher (Rapier) - More than doubles crit damage on low health targets, insane damage boost.

  • Serenity (Greatsword) - Reduced potion cooldown is great survivability for any build.

  • Freedom (Heavy Legwear) - Extra freedom makes you nearly un-CCable, core on most builds.

  • Endless Thirst (Earring Jewelry) - No need to ever slow attack for mana, amazing QoL and sustain.

A Tier (Insane on at least 1 build)

While these artifacts might excel in specific builds, they still bring significant power and are considered top-tier:

  • Pestilence (Blunderbuss) - Extra dot damage and slows are plague doctor's best friend.

  • Attuned Leather Pants (Medium Legwear) - Must have for any dex based builds like bow, rapier.

  • Magnetic Gauntlets (Heavy Glove) - Reduced void gauntlet/fire staff cooldowns are just unfair.

  • The Wall (Tower Shield) - Shield tanking is in a great spot and this enhances it further.

  • The Butcher (Sword) - Empowers already strong berserk playstyle to new levels.

B Tier (Viable for multiple builds)

These artifacts are versatile, offering viability across multiple builds, making them valuable additions to your collection:

  • Scorpion's Sting (Spear) - Good poison bonus damage and heal on melee builds.

  • Void Darkplate (Heavy Chestwear) - Solid all around but crit nerfs lessened its power level.

  • The Abyss (Great Axe) - Insane damage against targets below 50% but situational.

  • Gladiator (Round Shield) - Smaller off-heals provide decent sustain in group PvP.

  • The Unmoved (Heavy Footwear) - Strong vs cc but many cases where freedom/vgrit better.

  • Odo (Flail) - Good QoL and damage vs beasts but limited PvP use.

  • Vengeance (Life Staff) - Extra to wound is nice niche but usually outclassed.

  • Blooddrinker (Ring Jewelry) - Solid lifesteal but usually a niche perk rather than meta.

C Tier (Viable for at least 1 build)

While these artifacts may not be universally powerful, they find their niche in specific builds and situations:

  • Quickdraw Gloves (Light Glove) - Nice for musket but perks are quite situational.

  • Boltcaster (Bow) - Extra projectiles are fun but usually worse than raw damage.

  • Djinn Headwrap (Medium Headwear) - Good dodging but meta favors other tank accessories.

  • Inferno (Fire Staff) - Extra fire staff damage isn't as impactful currently.

  • Freya's Francisca (Hatchet) - Small QoL healing boost rather than meta perks.

  • Winged Leather Shoes (Medium Footwear) - Movement is replaced by other artifacts usually.

  • Lifetaker (Void Gauntlet) - Situational lifesteal but usually outclassed.

  • Lost Stopwatch (Amulet Jewelry) - Fun but haste usually outperformed by raw dmg/utility.

D Tier (Not viable on any build)

These artifacts currently lack the potency to impact any build significantly and may require buffs or reworks to become relevant:

  • Koya's Knee Guards (Light Legwear) - Weak perks with little practical impact currently.

  • Unyielding (Heavy Headwear) - Mathematically outperformed by other tank options.

  • Grey Wizard's Hat (Light Headwear) - Int builds are weak, perks don't make up for it.

  • Spark of Mjölnir (War Hammer) - Fun concept but numbers too low to be relevant.

  • The Mechanic (Musket) - Small QoL boosts but replaceable in every slot.

  • Michael (Kite Shield) - Healing isn't impactful enough compared to damage slots.

  • Ghoul Gloves (Medium Glove) - Weak perks that provide little real benefit.

Remember, the meta can shift with gameplay updates and player ingenuity. While this list is a snapshot of the current state of play, always keep an eye out for emerging strategies that might elevate an artifact's status. Happy grinding, and may your efforts be rewarded with the finest artifacts Season 4 has to offer!
