How Do You Make D2 Spirit Monarch Shield?

This D2 monarch shield is so powerful, that you are going to want to get it as fast as possible in Ladder. In order to make it, you need to get four D2 ladder runes for sale first, they are Tal, Thul, Ort, and Amn. These runes are relatively easy to get, you can get them pretty fast, and the really challenging part is to obtain a shield with 4 sockets. The only non-Paladin shields that can roll 4 sockets are elite Monarch, Ward, and Aegis, all of which require relatively high character levels, and you can’t get them from early-game drops.

How to make the Spirit Monarch Shield fast in Diablo 2 Resurrected 2.4 Ladder Season 1? Here are some useful tips from Sweet Phil and the best places to farm the white monarch shield in D2R.

Get Tal, Thul, Ort and Amn runes

The Diablo 2 Resurrected runes you actually need for Spirit are Tal, Thul, Ort, and Amn, they are easy to find, if you find any of these in the game, make sure to save them, for example, if you find a Tal rune, you are probably going to use it on some socketed items to be put on your mercenary to deal by the poison damage, or on something else, but save at least one of these. When you actually get to the Hell and you get your 4 socket monarch, you don’t have to farm for that particular one and any of the others you find along the way.

When you get to the point where you are going to try to farm and find the ones that you have not acquired yet, even though they are pretty low runes, you can’t quite get them all from normal Countess, the earliest that you can really rune them is Nightmare Countess. Every time you kill her, essentially she will drop you runes of some sort, a lot of times they are lower runes. This is a great place to get runes to make D2R runewords like Spirit. She can also drop higher runes, if don’t have any of these runes, you need to run her maybe 5 or 7 times. A little tip when you are running the Countess, when you are going down in the Forgotten Tower, in order to find the next way down to the next level, all you got to do is turn left every time, it is literally that easy to tell where to go, you just go in and turn left down to the next level.

Farm a 4 socket monarch shield

Once you get those runes, you can go ahead to get your four open socket monarch. Where are the best spots to find a white monarch?

The number one best place to find a 4 socket monarch is gonna be Hell Cows, so don’t try to farm it in Nightmare or somewhere like that. Not only is it hard to drop a monarch, but it’s also hard to find a four-open socket D2 item. What people usually find when they do their first Spirit is just a plain white monarch, and you have two options from that point, you can take that white monarch over to Larzuk and use the quest to give you four open sockets in it. Every time you do that choice, you got the four sockets, some people don’t want to waste their socket quest on that particular item, so they’ll use the Cube recipe. In order to farm the monarch shield, you need a Tal, an Amn, and a perfect ruby, the way the cube recipe works is random. It will roll between 1 and 6 sockets, the shield can only get a max of 4 sockets, if it rolls a 5 or a 6, it will then revert down to the maximum number of sockets that the item can have, in this case, you’ll end up with 4 sockets. So, you’ll have 50% chance to get four sockets in a white monarch if you use the cube recipe.

When it comes to other places to farm the 4 socket shields in D2R, Eldritch and Shenk are a good spot. You can get to the area super easily, all the minions around Eldritch and Shenk are very weak, but cold sorceress should not farm here because they are only immune to cold. They are high level enough to drop a white or open socketed monarch.

If you are a Blizzard sorceress, the Ancient Tunnels are where you can go, it is a level 85 area, so you can find every single item in the game down there, you also have a chance to get the white or 4 socket monarch shield.
