Sorcerer Rogier will help you find the Margit The Fell Omen. You can meet him at Stormveil Castle. But then things became chaotic and even worrying. This is a step-by-step guide to complete his quest and obtain his equipment.

Necrolimbo is the starting point for your adventure in Elden Ring, as well as many complex quests that are difficult to follow and complete without assistance. Without being the most important, that of Rogier is one of the most confusing, and one of the richest in lore. Here's what you need to know so you don't miss a thing.

Before you start, there are two important details:

Don't talk to the FIA or Ranni until Rogier's quest requires you. You need the FIA to stay at the roundtable hold.
If you do things in the wrong order, it may complicate your life. For Ranni, talking to him would kill poor Rogier directly.

Rogier's Position

You'll spot Rogier's golden mark just before the golden mist on the fight against Margit The Fell Omen, but you don't need to summon it. Later, you will meet him in the flesh in the chapel of the Stormveil Castle. He will then formally introduce himself and sell you War Ashes.

If you overcome Godrick the Grafted, Rogier will go to the Roundtable Hold, on the balcony and will give you his Rogier's Rapier +8 with interesting Ashes of War. His health will quickly deteriorate and he will eventually fall asleep and then die, so you have to progress quickly in his quests. The precise criteria are not yet known.

The Eldritch Face in Stormveil Castle

If you haven't already, go down to the depths of Stormveil Castle. Look for a section with beams and stone supports that descend into a large pit. You will end up crossing a giant corrupt root mini-boss, quite violent, but who will give you a golden Seed. Here is its position on the map.

Just behind, you will see a huge and hideous face on the ground, which seems almost like carved in stone. On the right is a talisman of Prince of Death's Pustule. And in front of the large eldritch face is a special bloodstain (not that of the players). Interacting with it, you'll see Rogier collapse to the ground.

Rogier and the Black Knifeprint

Return to the Roundtable Hold and talk to Rogier about his face. He will explain that it belongs to Godwyn - the first Elden Lord, killed by Black Knifeprint. You can now go talk to Fia and accept that she will give you a hug. Remember to use the Elden Ring item obtained next, it is important since it reduces your life as long as you have it in your possession. You will have the option to "Talk to him in secret". You may have to give him a second hug or charge the area to get the option. You will then be able to ask him about Knifeprint's location.

She will then mention Black Knife Catacombs in Liurnia of the Lakes, in which one of the assassins with the famous knife is located. Go to the dungeon which is just under the Rampart Tower Site of Grace. You will have to go down using the tombstones. The entrance is behind a headless spectral knight.

The dungeon is quite vicious, with enemies coming back to life. You will have to climb one of the guillotine traps after it has fallen, in order to use it as an elevator to the platform in height. A little further, you will have to discover an illusory wall that leads to a mini-boss Black Knife Assassin.

After beating him, you will get the knife imprint. Remember to finish the dungeon while you are there, there is another boss in the area. In any case, you have to bring the knife imprint back to Rogier, who will borrow it from you. Load the area again, and he will send you to see Ranni in Liurnia of the Lakes, to the 3 sisters. You can now freely advance in Ranni's quest to find out what's next.
