One of the more overlooked but also one of the most powerful unique item categories in Diablo 2 is the humble little wand, often passed over as being a weapon solely for the Necromancer, it packs surprises for a number of niche builds that are second only to the best and slot high-end rune words for them. Here we list those powerful unique wands in Diablo 2 Resurrected.
Diablo 2 Resurrected Powerful Unique Wands That Cast A Spell
Normal Unique Wands D2R
1. Torch of Iro Wand
It seems confused to say the least with some useful traits such as plus Necromancer skills and energy bump, as well as mana regen. It makes an okay early caster one for the Necromancer though you'll likely never ever really find a use for its fire damage outside of act one, or its life leech, you generally just won't find a use for that ever. But at level 5 required, it is a super early source of the coveted plus skills for a Necromancer.
2. Maelstrom Yew Wand
It is fairly good for early sorceresses until they can use leaf mainly because it packs a decent increased cast speed as well as extra mana and lightning resist of +40%, that said it is still better for the Necromancer as most of these will be because they can take advantage of the various plus skills for the different areas, most notably the +1 to corpse explosion, +2 to amplify damage, in case you're trying to optimize for your summons and don't want to burn points into the support skills just yet. That said a Summoner would still benefit more from plus all skills than necessarily just saving points by using this.
3. Gravenspine Bone Wand
It’s quite good considering level 20 for +2 to all Necro skills is still well super early and it's not a bad one considering it gives you stat bumps to strength and dexterity as well as some pocket mana among some other unnecessary mods like cold damage and mana leech that you'll probably never actually take advantage of.
4. Ume’s Lament Grim Wand
It comes with the same +2 to Necromancer skills, but slips in faster cast rate as well as decrepify points to save you from having to go down the tree early. It's a bit higher level requirement at level 28, but it's still good for its level and it even slips in a little bit of mana to help you with that since builds like the bone Necromancer will almost always still be struggling on mana by the point where you get this.
Exceptional Unique Wands D2R
1. Suicide Branch Burnt Wand
Outside of heart of the oak is pretty much a caster's dream with +1 to all skills, a whopping 50% faster cast rate, +40 to life, 10% to mana, as well as +10 resist all and a 25 damage to attackers, there really is not a bad aspect to this one, and it can actually be tied for the biggest faster cast bump of any one-handed weapon.
Heart of the Oak
+3 To All Skills+40% Faster Cast Rate
+75% Damage To Demons
+100 To Attack Rating Against Demons
Adds 3-14 Cold Damage, 3 sec. Duration (Normal)
7% Mana Stolen Per Hit
+10 To Dexterity
Replenish Life +20
Increase Maximum Mana 15%
All Resistances +30-40 (varies)
Level 4 Oak Sage (25 Charges)
Level 14 Raven (60 Charges)
2. Carin Shard Petrified Wand
It just rarely sees you since lower wands are a lot more competitive and you'll start finding it a bit after you can make spirit weapons, it packs +1 to Necromancer skills and then an additional +2 for summoning skills specifically, its main perk over other ones since it has slower faster cast is the fact that it packs faster hit recovery as well as scaling health and mana, though on the downside scaling health and mana are less helpful for overall boost since it's added after the percent bumps rather than before.
3. Arm Of King Leoric Tomb Wand
It gives you bigger bonuses to the specific summons, thanks to a specific skill boost combined with its Necromancer only boosts. The arm also only packs 10% faster casts and it does keep the mana per level effect as well from the previous one, it comes with a major drawback not dissimilar to the oculus and its teleport, except in this it will trap you in with enemies due to its 10% chance to cast bone prison when struck so you need to be extra aware of your positioning while using this though, thankfully as a standard summoner, you should almost never be getting hit unless you're out of position.
4. Blackhand Key Grave Wand
It used to be fairly heavily sought after and is still fairly nice for a bone Necromancer wand. It is just nice with +2 Necromancer skills as well as +1 to curses, but more importantly, +30% faster cast rate, so it's applied before the percent increases as well as +37% fire resist and 20% damage taken goes to mana and with version 2.4 releasing soon, those grim ward charges may just become useful just depending on how they interact with curses.
Elite Unique Wands Diablo 2 Resurrected
1. Boneshade Lich Wand
Another competitor for white and black hand key, it packs plus to all skills, +25% faster cast and plus to individual skills of varying values, a high-end version of one of these can be a fairly solid wand for a bone Necromancer, though often a bone-spear-oriented white wand ends up being preferred for maximizing damage output on the pure bone users. While summoners and poison Necros will often prefer their more specific tools as well.
2. Death’s Web Unearthed Wand
Most often gotten for use on a poison nova Necromancer, its stats are pretty much perfect for it with negative enemy poison resist as well as life and mana recovery per kill, +1 to poison and bone skills, on top of +2 for all skills. Though since it is plus all skills, it's one of those odd items peple will take a glance at whenever they do poison skill changes because it can greatly impact a number of different skills and while it's not best in slot for a lot of these builds, it can be a kind of fun alternative or good for people who are going for pure poison challenges.
