11/12/2021 5:31:02 PM

Today we are going to be breaking down one of the coolest hybrid characters in Diablo 2 Resurrected. So this is a shape-shifting druid that has more than 12K physical damage and almost 10K elemental damage. So we going to break down everything that you need to know about Diablo 2 shapeshifter druid build guide, covering build overview, strengths & weakness, stat points, attributes, mercenary and D2R gear recommendations.

Build Overview For Diablo 2 Shape-Shifting Druid – Best Hybrid Build In D2R

Pros & Cons For Hybrid Build Shape Shifter Druid

The following are some general strengths and weaknesses of this class for hybrid shape-shifting druid in Diablo 2:

Pros for hybrid build:

- You have two forms of damage, so a lot of physical and also a lot of elemental fire damage. So if you run into a physical monster, you can rely on fire damage. If you run into a fire moon you can rely on physical. And this build has a lot of sheer roth physical damage, so fire immunities is not really an issue, it's more like fire is a supplement to your physical damage.

- The second major pro is that this build actually has some pretty solid Aoe damage. So the Armageddon falling down is Aoe as well as the Fischer Procs from the weapon. So a huge high strength requirement weapon but it is very cool in this sort of like niche unique case build. So definitely really need to use this weapon if you want to make this hybrid build.

- The third major pro is style points. This will definitely hands down the single coolest looking fury to it if you rock this exact setup on battlenet.

Cons for hybrid build:

- The first major one is that the weapon strength requirement is insanely high, 263 strength requirement is pretty insane compared to most items that you typically use on characters. You're definitely sacrificing some vitality to wield this very powerful weapon. With that being said, there's definitely some ways to counteract that with shape shifting plus life bonus, oak sage as well as charms you can for the most part counteract, the loss of life, but definitely a huge strength requirement.

- The second major con is that while it is a very strong melee build with very good elemental damage. If you're talking about pure min-maxing like maximum dps melee setup, it won't compete with the best possible furious setup, but you will fortunately look a lot cooler than the best fury druid setup.

Attributes

So for the attribute distribution, this build has 275 strengths. So we really need that high strength requirement to equip the crazy weapon earth shifter. For dexterity, invest nothing in energy and then everything else in vitality. So when you are in shape shifting form with oak sage and battle orders from call to arms, this build has over 4300 life with that insane 275 strength investment. The res split is not the best. 37 fire, 50 cold, 80 lightning and 37 poison. But with the amount of damage and life leech, that's a decent red split.

Skill Tree For Build

Summoning Tree

Have 1 hard point into oak sage, go the optional road of heart of wolverine if it wanted more damage. But choose more plus life and do not invest a point into some grizzly if you wanted to, but focus on investing more points in the elemental skill tree. So go with one hardpoint in oak sage.

Shape-Shifting Tree

1 hardpoint into lycanthropy, one hardpoint into a werewolf and then one point into feral rage and rabies. And then a completely maxed fury. This is the main damage dealing skill, so it made sense to put 20 points into fury.

Elemental Skill Tree

Put 100 points into arctic blast cyclone, armor twister, tornado and hurricane because they're all prerequisites for Armageddon. And then put 20 air points in Armageddon, 28 points in a volcano, 20 higher points into firestorm and then 20 hardpoints into a molten boulder to fully synergize the damage. You could optionally put more points into fissure if you want to increase the duration of Armageddon.

Druid Gear

- Weapon: Earth Shifter with a Shale rune in it. The shell rune is very important because it helps you reach a higher increase attack speed breakpoint because only is on the weapon counts towards a fury druid for the most part, that's the simple explanation offhand weapon is does help a little bit, but just focus on increased attack speed on the weapon. This is a very cool weapon with crushing blow a lot of ed and then plus seventh elemental skills. So that's how we really boost the Armageddon damage while at the same time having a very powerful fury.

- Shield: Jalal's Mane

- Helmet: Highlord’s Wrath

- Boosts: Gore Rider

- Rings: Raven Frost Ring, Wraith Hold Ring

- Gloves: Dracul’s Grasp

- Mesh: Arachnid Mesh

Best Mercenary Gear For Druid Hybrid Build

- Weapon: Infinity

- Helmet: Vampire Gaze

Using an Act 2 nightmare offensive mercenary and then we have the infinity for the weapon. This is to boost the overall fire damage, you wouldn't necessarily have to use this, you could go like a reaper's toll if you wanted more physical damage. But that infinity does pair nicely with this build. And then we have treachery and then a jammed v-gaze, so this is ethereal v-gaze with a chainring for cannot be frozen. But that's basically the mercenary setup. So he is pretty strong on his own provides a support aura and then that conviction aura from infinity helps to significantly boost the fire damage. So remember we are almost 9K Armageddon and if that monster isn't firemen with the negative fires from infinity, we're probably upwards in the range of almost 15000 fire damage.

So this will not be the most stunning fastest clear speed character but it definitely does hold his own style points. It’s definitely one of the coolest-looking builds in Diablo 2 Resurrected.
