12/25/2023 6:05:27 PM

EA FC 24 Winter wildcards promo released some very popular cards. These new player items offered large boosts to stats in certain key areas, with some becoming formidable options within their positions. In our FC 24 Winter Wildcard tier list, we'll will rank the best Winter Wildcards in Ultimate Team.

FC 24 Best Winter Wildcard - EA FC 24 Winter Wildcards Tier List

Leading the way in our S-Tier are some truly exceptional cards that stand head and shoulders above the rest. Striker Pelé received massive improvements to his physicality, cementing him as one of the most dominant attackers in the game. Meanwhile, defenders like Balde and Militão gained traits making them even more disruptive presences at the back.

Several other stars like Cristiano Ronaldo, Gullit and new midfielder Fernández also get spots in the top ranking due to well-rounded upgrades. While no card is perfect, these S-Tier options provide an immense boost in quality regardless of team makeup. Moving down, attackers Drogba and Raphinha lead a strong A-Tier, with midfielders like Fernández and Rush rounding out more balanced options. Now, let's dive into the detailed EA FC 24 Winter Wildcards tier list and ranking!

S Tier - Pelé (CAM)

He was already a crazy good card before this new version. A hawk chemistry style is to max out his shooting stats. Gaining an extra 6 physicals is highlighted as being a big upgrade, pretty good.  His gold Quick Step plus playstyle is praised, it will make him one of the best attackers in the game and he will be "insane". But his price will also likely be insane due to how strong the upgrades have made him. The lack of a 5-star weak foot is a little flaw. Overall he is assessed as being right up there on this FC 24 Ultimate Team Winter Wildcard tier list as one of the top attackers to use in the game due to the major strength improvements made by the Winter Wildcard upgrade.

S Tier - Putellas (CM)

Putellas is a 5 star card with 2 defending, 2 physical, and 1+ on everything else. They swapped her play style plus for first touch tick takaka probably an upgrade and they've given a power shot as Putellas is already one of the cards in the game and this card obviously is a bit better but it doesn’t change much.

S Tier - Cristiano Ronaldo (ST)

It's a decent upgrade from his other card, with a +3 overall rating boost. the upgrades to his dribbling stats as significant. His 99 composure is called out as very nice. The play styles of Power Shot, Incisive Pass (gained), and Technical, Finesse Shot (lost Incisive Pass) are assessed as much better. The extra dribbling will make him feel better on the ball. He will creep into the top 10-15 attackers in the game due to the upgrades. Expects him to perform very well and be a top-tier best FC 24 Winter Wildcard.

S Tier - Balde (RB)

He was already one of the best fullbacks in the game. His new card can play both right and left-back positions. The new playstyles of Whipped Pass, Intercept, and Rapid are great. He felt physically good before despite low stats. With an anchor chemistry style, his stats will be further increased. The upgrades are called a "big" one that will make him "amazing". He is ranked in the S-Tier on this EAFC 24 Winter Wildcard ranking due to how strong an upgrade it is expected to be. His card performance is predicted to be top-tier given how much better he can potentially play in-game.

S Tier - Gullit (CM)

Compared to the other Gullit, it could be better. They've given this one pretty good playstyles. Stats wise, he's not quite as good. As far as cards go, he probably is S tier but he's not that crazy.

S Tier - Éder Militão (CB)

Éder Militão doesn't have a play style plus on his other card. This one gets Jockey and Block that's pretty nice and annoying to play against. Éder Militão is already pretty good not to mention he added a couple of playstyles plus to him so we put him in the S tier on this EA FC 24 Winter Wildcards tier list.

S Tier - Morgan (ST)

It's literally the same card with plus 1 or 2 across the board. She's already amazing she just needs the boost but she'll still be great.

S Tier - Fernando Torres (ST)

Five Star skills on Torres is interesting. Same playstyles but a gold quick step. We’re going to give him a high rank but he falls off S since he's not an incredible card.

A Tier - Martinelli (RW)

An amazing SBC. Using a Hawk chemistry style to boost his shooting and physical stats. His dribbling is praised as great, but his finishing and shot power are only decent after the boost. Playstyles are assessed as good but attributes as slightly lacking to be top tier. He is ranked in the A tier as very good, but not on the same level as true top attackers. He is more of a solid option than the standout player.

A Tier - Drogba (ST)

Have to fix his dribbling so he's just much better physically. Five-star weak foot that's always huge, not the best on the ball but the weak foot's really big. Gold Aeriel is better and being 6'2 is a beast in the air. It's not a bad card, we’re going to have him A-tier because of the weak foot.

A Tier - Raphinha (RW)

Raphinha has been given 5-star skills to appease those wanting a trickster player. His card is pretty decent overall.

A Tier - Fernández (CM)

This is a big upgrade from his other card, gaining a 5-star weak foot which is praised as being nice for a midfielder. His playstyles remain the same but Relentless Plus is considered a pretty good one. His passing attributes are highlighted as being very good, especially vision/short & long passing which average around 93. His physical stats are deemed very, very good. Defending is assessed as good and dribbling is good. The lack of a great shot currently is acknowledged. He would be placed in the S tier if he had better shooting and pace. As is, he is ranked in the A tier due to his well-rounded stats and qualities, with the caveat that 4* skills would be preferable but not necessary.

B Tier - Rush (CM)

He has been moved to a center mid position from his original card. This has resulted in a loss of some pace but gains in other stats. His playstyles remain nearly identical, with gold Relentless being kept. His passing attributes are assessed as very good. It's a shame he can't do long chip-through balls from that position. However, 99 heading is odd for a midfielder. Based on the changes, he is "okay" but not particularly brilliant.

B Tier - Reus (CAM)

It compares this EAFC 24 Winter Wildcard to his other version, noting it is a big upgrade. He has swapped the Chip Shot trait for the First Touch trait, calling it a nice upgrade. However, it notes he has no 5-star skills, and his pace is quite low, calling it a "bit meh". His physical stats are called bad and his shot, passing, and dribbling are deemed good. He is assessed as having decent playstyles. Taking into account his lack of 5-star skills and low pace, he is ranked in the B Tier. But if he had 90 pace he would likely be A Tier, or if he had better playstyles or 5-star skills he could even be S Tier on this FC 24 Winter Wildcard tier list.

B Tier - Owen (LM)

Gold technical is a big upgrade on that card, should have been a four star weak foot and four star skill move. Can't really pass. He's got better passing but shots are miles worse. A weird card overall.

B Tier - van Basten (ST)

This card looks like an interesting one to evaluate. Van Basten is not having gained any Pace, but having lost quite a bit of shooting compared to his previous card version. His passing attributes, specifically 16 passing are very good. His passing is decent but his long passing is not the best attribute. He is decent on the ball but with worse physical stats and four four. His new Pinged Pass playstyle is interesting and a dead-ball specialist trait. Overall, the card is a weird one that is not expected to see much usage in games.

B Tier - Bamba (LW)

His card is the objective reward player from the promo. Looking at his attributes, he is an "OK" card but nothing too special. He is given a ranking of B tier of this EA FC 24 Winter Wildcard tier list.

B Tier - van Nistelrooy (GK)

C Tier - van Nistelrooy (GK)

He's a 91 but his keeping stats are awful so we're going to put it in the C tier.

C Tier - Wijnaldum (CM)

Compared to his other card, there's no more pace. But he's got 99 physical which is pretty nice, good on the ball, good defending, and okay passing. We’re going to put him in C tier because he pretty much is awful in every area except for physical. Not a particularly great card overall.
