NBA 2K22 Best Day One Squad - Starter Team

1. Point Guards

Player To Choose: Derrick Rose or Gus Williams (Slasher)

Your choices with your point guides all depends on your play style. The point guards and the center are positions where you legitimately have choices. At the point guard position, you can go lock down, slasher or shooter.

So if we're looking at day one NBA 2K21 MyTeam and want to go slasher, you used 90 overall Derrick Rose or 88 rated Gus Williams, the both players have plus 90 speed. Your slashers are normally your like 90 something plus speed gold quick first step point guards, that their job is to just run by weak defenses. The problem is the slashers can be very easily stopped, if the other team is is like made properly - for example, you're playing against someone who's using Steph Curry or Devin Booker and Jokic at center or Trey Young a point guard, the slasher is the best option if you're facing that lineup because they will run by everybody and run through your opponent's team and score.

They are the most OP players and going to outrun the opposition whether it be fast parades or be going to the basket, and they're going to be unguardable. The problem is if your opponent brings some sort of a lock either a lockdown point guard or a lockdown wing, you might struggle especially if you're not particularly good at the game,  and not going to be able to run through people.

2. Lockdowns

Player To Choose: Eric Bledsoe, Jure Holidays, Trea Young

Eric Bledsoe have bronze clamps, could shoot the ball a little bit on a bronze quick first step, so he was like a jack of all trades player but he was mainly there for defense. Jure Holidays could be good and then obviously we got like the Premium one was Maurice Cheeks last year because he actually had quick first steps you'd use them as a little bit of a slasher, as well as having gold clamps and 96 ladder quickness.

So the benefit of running a defensive point guard is that you don't need to worry as much defensively in your two and your two and your three. What's highly unlikely is that someone runs two players two slashers, two players a quick first step, or not even quick step two players will just burn you off the dribble, and some player like a Steph Curry you're quick for steps not going to the basket that much. What ends up happening is that one of these three players has to be a really good defender, and if it's your point guard you can kind of get away with a mediocre defender at one of these two positions and then a freaking traffic cone on defense at the other one, and that is the benefit of running with the slasher.

The benefit of the shooter which we all know Trea Young's coming and the thing with the shooter is that the shooters can not place defense. There is not going to be a shooter who plays defense, we don't know how to shoot early in the game, a lot of the times it takes a little bit to get into shooting and it this is what is going to take the highest level of skill they want to use, but the bonus of the shooter is the Trae Young's free as a starter player, so that is pretty much how you how you're to stick with the point guard position.

3. Guards (Point Guard & Shooting Guard)

Player To Choose: Donovan Mitchell, Trea Young, Bobby Jackson, Klay Thompson

Your two guard all depends on your point guard, for example, if you're running a defensive lockdown point guard or a shooting point guard and you want a slasher. We recommend the free or the starter Donovan Mitchell, he's not going to be hard to get even as a second starter might not be a bad option to throw into two. Donovan Mitchell is going to be someone that is going to allow you to run by everybody. You also should try Trea Young, he's going to run past everyone with six foot one and play at the two. You're going to be struggling by mightily defensively with here, in terms of pure offensive firepower, you're not getting much better than running these two players together - one shooter and one slasher, it means that you're pretty much sorted.

However if you are running a slashing point guard, you can't really run a slashing two guard as well. So if you're again like a slashing point player and Bobby Jackson. This is where every year most of players don't know who the player is going to be, but it should be somebody in either the emerald token rewards or the sapphire token awards or like an emerald card that's going to be a sniper with good defense.

Again, if you're running a non-defensive player here, you get a defender; if these players are gold dust at the start of the game three and d wings and if you can fill out your team and you can get through four of these players in your team, if you can get four players with clamps and range extender (the more important of the two badges ), you are sorted. You need at least one player in your one two or three with silver clamps because they have to guide your other team's primary. If you can find Klay Thompson, even his normal card is probably going to have those badges.

Two slashing point guards, two three and d wings that's probably the most effective setup, because then you've got your shooters and your person's going to run to the basket.

4. Small Forwards

Player To Choose: Richard Jefferson, Doung Christie

It's the same as the two guard really except for example a lot of people ran out in Houston Iron island using an immigration who couldn't guard a tree on defense so had to use defensive small forwards. So you need someone to grab primary and the players such as Richard Jefferson and Doung Christie, neither these players are the best shooters in the world but they could hit a wide open shot. If you can find a gold or silver clamps player with an 80+ three pointer, they don't even need range.

5. Power Forwards

Player To Choose: Kevin Durant, Dirk Nowitzki

Hit a wide open shot and run, simply pick up the player with plus 75 speed, plus 75 three pointer and a bit of height. Jonathan Isaac didn't have to push 75.3, early game he ended up being a liability and everyone had to use an early game because no one knew how to shoot. Ben Simmons has the best dunk animations to use on power forward position. What's more, another ideal player to run is the pre-order Kevin Durant, we don't advise you to run to slow stretch big like the Dirk Nowitzki that player at the power forward position gets eaten alive when you're playing as Kevin Durant. While Kevin Durant's not going to be really able to stick much defense on Giannis, he's going to be able to be a lot better than a Dirk. Like those 40 speed players as power forward, you're going to get killed because you're going to run up against Giannis so often at start of the game, especially if Giannis Antetokounmpo is only a sapphire.

6. Centers

Player To Choose: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Ben Simmons

You just want a cone who plays some decent defense and we'll hit wide open shots. If you want to use like specifically a Giannis Antetokounmpo or Ben Simmons, you got to build your team around them, but then there's the centers - it all depends on your team. Early in the game, if you are running a three hunting team, you've got a point guard who your main aim is to shoot off pick and rolls, a two guard whose main name is catch and shoot three, and athletic dunking big man who is perfect for that lineup. We don't know who it's going to be, but you're going to look for the speed stop, basically centers that have a high speed and a high dunk. Actually one place where you always find them, in domination rewards you will always find those type of players.

7. Off the Bench

Player To Choose: Giannis Antetokounmpo

Personally, you can run Giannis Antetokounmpo. We do suggest you run a Simmons because he's low but he's 85 overall. If you have the enough NBA 2K22 MT and you want to run a freaking Giannis Antetokounmpo out to the combo, because if you come up against a player, a lot of people are going to be running the freaking Dirk starting, Giannis Antetokounmpo is going to eat them alive.

If you want to run Giannis Antetokounmpo on your primary, you need to have shooters in your three positions to around him, because he will not be able to shoot a lick. Also you need to have backups because if someone knows that a guardian is you're kind of screwed.

More Tips on Building Perfect Stater Team in NBA 2K22

In NBA 2K22 MyTeam, there is potential that giants are going to be the meta, and if giants are the meta you surround the giants with shooters, if the meta is using giants you surround the giants with shooters, if giants aren't a matter your defense does not matter, because what will end up happening is your opponent's going to run a giant and you paint it - if people get blown by on the perimeter, you literally get your giant and get your four best shooters surrounding them.

Outside of giants being the meta, really you need your two guard and power forward always to be able to hold defense, and want normally in the game small forwards that can play power forward as in like long lengthy athletic players that can dribble, shoot, move a little bit. For center position, you really have your choice.
